“This space of instinctive, natural expression reaches beyond our institutions and hierachies. It lives in defence of love and loving and is essential for us as human beings.” – John Berger
Yoga practice creates a space to feel, to listen in and re-connect with our natural abundant self. This form of Hatha Flow Yoga offers a simple, graceful form of yoga which cultivates growing awareness of how our physical body moves which over time can also give us a greater awareness of our way of being in a wider sense as well. Carly encourages people to listen to the subtle body moving through the physical sheath of the body to lengthen and animate postures, with particular emphasis on lengthening the 5th limb of the body – the spine. So that over time we can begin to hear the body and notice where we can move with more ease, efficiency and connection to the ground via awareness of the whole body moving as one.
Classes are offered in half term blocks to allow people to really learn and get to know what is being taught at a deeper level. Each block of sessions focuses on a specific sequence which changes each half term, but the fundamental principles of the teaching are consitant and coherent from block to block.
All classes are held at Carlys studio in Nether Edge Sheffield and are limited to 6 people. Pre book only contact firstname.lastname@example.org to book.
“Now I understand that there are two melodies playing, one below the other, one easier to hear, the other lower, steady, perhaps more faithful for being less heard yet always present”
– The Second Music, Anne Lighthart
Yoga is a process of becoming more intimate with yourself. Taking the time to spend with yourself, as you would with someone you love. Turning towards all that you are with compassion, so that you can embrace wholeheartedly the fullness of your being. Leading us towards naturalness; no pushing no holding back. Letting the notion of perfection repeatedly give way to love. What are we cultivating? Love.
