Through this period of cocooning I will be offering classes online and you can book here. My intention is to provide an online space to connect with others and to keep yourself healthy.
Classes run Tuesdays 6-7pm and Fridays 8.30-9.30am and can be booked online.
I realise that many people have been hit hard financially at this time and that there are many online yoga offerings for free online just now. But teaching classes is my main source of income and unfortunately I can’t afford to offer all my sessions free of charge. However, if you have no income and would like to join please contact me and if I can offer assistance then I will.
Sending love to all in these rapidly changing and challenging times.
Thank you to everyone who backed my Kickstarter campaign! It was a huge success and I felt so grateful for all your support. With your pledges I have been able to send out 20 free copies but I have also been able to print a small surplus amount. These will be available at Womanfest and online here for £10 + £3 postage and packaging. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!
To buy a copy you can paypal £13 via paypal.me/CarlyMountain or email me email@example.com with your address and I will send you online banking payment details.
This month is National Poetry Month and so what better time to hold the first Poetry Dive of the year. There will be four poetry dives in Sheffield this year. Each one is an opportunity to dive under the surface into your inner world with other courageous souls who are willing to do the same.
A poetry dive is an evocative process which uses movement, music and poetry to till the soil of our being and release whatever is ready to emerge. The process finishes with time to write and optional sharing. However, the emphasis is not on writing poetry per say, instead it is an invitation to be with your inner unfolding, turning towards and welcoming whatever is alive in you moment by moment. It is a unique way of sharing poetry with others, listening into the layers of your voice and exploring your expression.
I find it is such a joy to do this in the company of others and again and again this process offers me a doorway into deepening intimacy with myself.
The Dives will take place at Heeley Institute on
SPRING Friday 26th April 6-9pm
SUMMER Saturday 29th June 4.30-7.30pm
AUTUMN Saturday 21st September 4.30-7.30pm
WINTER Saturday 30th November 4.30-7.30pm
You can book one or more of the dives via this link. If you have any further questions feel free to email me firstname.lastname@example.org. I am open to bringing Poetry Dives to other places so if you wish to organise a dive with me do get intouch.
JOUISSANCE: a form of women’s pleasure or sexual rapture that combines mental, physical and spiritual aspects of female experience, bordering on mystical communion. Jouissance can be described as the source of a woman’s creative power that delights in being limitless.
On Monday 20th May I will be launching my first poetry pamphlet. To mark this, I would be delighted if you would join me for an intimate sharing of some of the poems from the book woven into an experiential talk about poetry, female creativity and my own personal journey.
Jouissance is a selection of poetry that I have written over the past 6 years. It formed alongside the Butterfly work which was a part of my own Inanna journey. So for anyone thinking about signing up for Butterfly next year this evening would be a good chance to get to know more about me and the roots of the work.
We live in a world where the feminine has been in exile within our collective psyche and that manifests itself in our wider societal structure and ourselves. Even our language is based in masculine structures and yet poetry can take us beyond the structure of words to the heart of the matter. I am passionate about poetry’s ability to connect, heal and awaken us to what needs to be heard. We live in a world severely lacking in words that describe and recognise the female experience. Though there is so much more writing and poetry out there which gives voice to the feminine, I am craving more and feel that there is certainly room for more. So, this work is a part of my endeavour to answer my own prayer and it is my hope that my words may support others who are also walking this path.
Honouring the feminine is a huge part of my path. But I recognise that this is not just a personal endeavour but a collective one. We cannot do it alone with one big gesture, but through many small but courageous gestures from many people. For this reason, this event will also be the launch of a crowdfunder so that if you feel inspired to you can help give this work flight. The crowdfunder will go live on 20th May, there you will find various offerings including copies of the book in exchange for your donation. I am hoping that through your support I can send at least 10 free copies of the book out to others holding circles, scattering the seeds of poetry on the wind.
This FREE launch event will be held at Jo and Ben’s lovely new yoga space Mudra, 151 Sellers Wheel, Sheffield S1 2NU. Though there is no charge to attend I do ask that you book in advance. So if you feel inspired to join me you can reserve your space online via the Mudra website here. Once on the site, go to EVENTS (via the top left menu on laptop or top right dropdown on mobile) and enter your details to reserve you place. I hope to see you there and feel free to share with your friends. Thank you for your support.
I am absolutley thrilled to announce that Kim Rosen will be back in Sheffield to offer a three day workshop again in February. I have worked with Kim for the last 5 years and it’s no exaggeration to say it has been life changing and so much of her work informs my own. I highly recommmend her!

Dance your way into 2018 with this new yoga course Deepening Your Relationship With Practice.
You may be relatively new to yoga and wish to invest more time and energy into it, or you may have practiced for years and feel that you have hit a wall that you cannot shift. Making a commitment to the same class for 6 weeks can really help to create a greater consistency and depth that will support your practice. The practice taught in this course is physical but is based in the yogic principles of connection and integration. If the arm moves why does it move, where does it move from and what else is affected? As we continue to awaken to the multiplicity of connections within our physical body, we can discover new possibilities that can be directly experienced not only through the physical but also in our mind, energy and emotions. During these 6 weeks we will;
– learn a flowing vinyasa sequence centered around natarajasana (Lord of the Dance pose) that we will repeat and play with feeling how it resonates in us over time
– freeing the hips (as the seat of the spine and central gateway of the body) and spine (the central pillar of your body)
– the freedom to move and express our inner dance moment by moment
This course requires a willingness to lean into the unknown, to balance and fall, play, dance and explore. Curiosity essential! Places limited early booking recommended £48 for 6 weeks. Click here to book
